God spoke to my heart, “William, C’mon with me and shift your gear throughout America, inspiring everyone you meet to Shift to Greatness!” I could see the white lines slowly passing me by as I traveled from West to East. It was an epiphany that gripped my heart deeply and would not let me go. My heart raced as I contemplated it, and it became my passion and purpose until I completed this epic journey in which God would allow me to “Astonish” Him and encourage others to do the same.Only one person could tell me that I couldn’t ride my bike for thousands of miles, stay at strangers’ homes, ask people what was great about them, create new friendships, eat new foods, and discover things about myself and others that I never knew. ME. I find that we are the only ones who can kill a vision that God gives us.Why would God beckon me to climb on a bike and climb unbelievable hills on one side, and scream down the other at nearly 40 mph with cars next to me a few feet away? Why risk my very life at 53 with no idea of where my new life would take me? This was totally unhinged and absolutely contrary to what intelligent people do, especially religious people. What drove me to this point, and why such a radical move? As I revisit my experience while preparing to continue my journey, I have come to understand why – God is an adventurer and He is always trying to wake us up from our own disgust, boredom and self -destructive habits that trap us in cycles that keep us in circles of pain, the same faces of people and in bondage to the deep demonic voice of condemnation.

Thus, in the development of God's redemptive plan, our current dispensation exists within the tension between the mysteries of the kingdom of God and the open rule of Satan. This forms the dispensational background of our battle situation. We must be warriors because this necessarily corresponds to the combined divine and human character of the kingdom of God, allowing creatures freedom of will. Therefore, the one who has been called to the kingdom must not only decide at his conversion which master he will serve but also make that same decision every day and in every practical detail of his life of sanctification. This serves as the moral and dynamic background of our conflict. May we gird up the loins of our minds and "fight the good "fight of faith in hope of eternal life and rewards that do not perish.

Christmas has a way of pressing gently on those tender places, reminding us not only of what we have endured, but of what God still desires to restore. On December 27th, 2025, Holiday Expressions of Hope, Love, and Forgiveness—a live poetic encounter that reaches beyond entertainment and straight into the soul was released. At the heart of this gathering is William Owens—Of the Heart Poet. William’s journey is not polished or distant. His poetry is forged in the real fires of life—divorce, rejection, loneliness, misunderstanding, forgiveness of others and of himself, all at the cost of pursuing God’s call with relentless conviction. These are not wounds he hides; they are the very soil from which his words grow.Yet in every valley, God has met him—not only to heal him, but to shape him into a vessel able to speak life into others. Through thousands of poems written over nearly a decade, two published poetry books, and a full-length film rooted in the very themes of this event, William has learned that the heart becomes clearest when it is surrendered.
